Burnt Biskit News

Fargo Storyteller was nominated for best Traditional Folk Song at the Just Plain Folks organization.  This song was written by John Pierce of Burnt Biskits about a true story as told to Pierce by his friend and fellow musician, Matt Dwyer.  Dwyer lived the tale in the 1970’s and related his adventure during a social outing.  Pierce, aka Banjoman, penned the tune and it was recorded on the Burnt Biskits latest CD, “We Play Better Than We Cook”.

Just Plain Folks is the largest grassroots organization representing independent musicians worldwide.  Over 560,000 songs were screened to get to the nominees in 95 categories.  The awards ceremony will be held in Nashville, TN on August 29, 2009.
