The Faces Behind the Music
John Pierce (Banjo man): I have been playing guitar, banjo, bass, drums and accordion in a variety of musical groups for over 50 years. My eclectic musical roots go back to The Beatles, Homer and Jethro, The Smothers Brothers, John Denver and many others. I play banjo, guitar, bass and mandolin with Burnt Biskits, write music, and sing many of the lead and harmony vocals for the group.
I have previously been a member of The Prisms, The Ed Saigman Trio, The Change, Heartland String Band as well as a solo artist.
I currently perform as a solo act as well as performing as a duo or trio with my wife Janice Jillson &Â Bob Kraft as Burnt Biskits 2.
The original five members of Burnt Biskits also still get together for special events.
Bob Kraft: There have been three times I have immersed myself in the musical world of professional music. The first was in my early twenties. We were a trio made of two guitar players and all three of us sang. We worked different venues in Lincoln, NE.
The second time was about a decade ago when I felt like it was time to strike out again, only I wanted to try to make it as a solo act. I used popular tunes from across the ages to play at a coffee house using my guitar and my voice.
The third time is currently, as a solo act but I also perform as a duo with John Pierce. I both play guitar and sing, and I will play a few numbers on the ukulele. I bring a variety of tunes from different ages to make for an interesting, invigorating show.
